MEGHAN MCLARNEY, RD, LMNT, CDE
CO-FOUNDER
DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RELATIONS AND SUSTAINABILITY

Meghan McLarney is a mother, wife, dietitian, diabetes educator, culinary instructor and born-optimist.  She loves bringing people together to share a meal and learn traditions.  Meghan is a graduate of Omaha’s Benson High School and went on to become a first generation college graduate, inspired by the successes of urban garden programs.  She set off to learn all she could about food culture and its impact on the body and community.  Since then, she has developed community garden programs, cooking classes, and research on the impact of relationships on health. Meghan believes that anyone can contribute to a community garden- she grew up in a food desert and had not planted her first garden until age 25.  She has lived on the West and East Coasts and believes there are no sights more beautiful than a Nebraska sunsets and no smell better than Nebraska tomatoes on the vine.

SARAH SORTINO, MS, RD, LMNT
CO-FOUNDER
DIRECTOR OF PROGRAM OPERATIONS

Sarah Sortino is a small town Nebraska native who loves her home state and all the abundance it has to offer.  Sarah is a mother, wife, registered dietitian, certified health coach, cooking instructor, Master Gardener and self-proclaimed foodie!  Sarah obtained her bachelor's degree in nutritional science and dietetics from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and completed her internship at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital near Chicago, Illinois. Sarah is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as well as local state and city dietetics chapters. 
     Sarah celebrates food and all it's glory!  She enjoys sharing food traditions and culture as well as teaching others how they can holistically benefit from food to improve their eating habits and overall health. Sarah believes in knowing where your food comes from and that having a true connection with food makes all the difference in the world. She has had the pleasure of leading innovative nutrition projects including several community gardens and farm-to-fork culinary events.  Sarah believes that taking a preventative approach with nutritious eating, physical activity and that connecting to nature can help keep the mind and body strong and healthy. 

MIRIAM ZAMBRANO, MS, RD, LMNT
CO-FOUNDER
DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS OPERATIONS

Miriam is a world traveler who gets to call the mid-west home. She double majored in psychology (Trinity University) and dietetics (University of Nebraska- Lincoln) and finished her internship and Masters in Nutrition Science at University of Nebraska- Lincoln. She is a mother of two, partner to a military member, and daughter of a pastor/social worker team. Miriam became a dietitian to prevent individuals from complicated health issues by using food and nutrition as a path towards longevity. The mission of Blossom & Wood allows her to combine her purpose as a dietitian with her passion for the great outdoors. She believes one of the best things in life is the look in a child's eye (young or old) when discovering in nature.
